How to use QR Code Scanner

Read the value inside a QR code from a saved image or a live camera view and inspect it before opening or copying it.

Three simple steps

  1. Choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP image, or start the camera after granting access.
  2. Keep the complete QR code sharp and visible while the scanner reads it.
  3. Review the exact decoded value, then copy it or open a verified HTTP or HTTPS link.

Safer QR scanning

  • The full QR square and its light outer margin should remain visible.
  • Only explicit HTTP and HTTPS values receive an Open link action; all other content remains text.
  • A successfully decoded QR code does not guarantee that its content or destination is trustworthy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot?

Yes. Choose a clear PNG, JPG, or WebP screenshot that includes the complete code and its surrounding margin.

Why was no QR code found?

Blur, glare, a tight crop, low contrast, severe perspective, or a very small code can prevent reliable decoding.

Does the scanner open links automatically?

No. It shows the decoded value first and offers an explicit Open link action only for HTTP or HTTPS URLs.
