Shrink PDF Size

We render each PDF page to a canvas, export to a compressed JPEG (adjustable quality), then create a new PDF from those images. This works best for PDFs that are mostly scanned pages or image-heavy. Complex vector PDFs may not reduce much or may lose vector detail.

No — because pages are rasterized into images, selectable/searchable text will be lost. If you need to keep selectable text, use a server-side PDF optimizer that preserves vectors and embedded fonts.
